Why I Love Being an Amazon Prime Member

Stack of Amazon delivery boxes on a front porch, representing the benefits of being an Amazon Prime member, including fast, free delivery, exclusive deals, and Prime Day savings (July 8–11).

If you’ve ever wondered whether Amazon Prime is worth it — I can tell you from experience: for our family, it absolutely is.

We’ve been Amazon Prime members for years now, and it’s one of those subscriptions that continues to pay for itself, season after season. Whether I’m ordering last-minute gifts, stocking up on household essentials, or streaming a great movie on a quiet evening — Prime has become an integral part of our everyday life.

Let me share why I love being an Amazon Prime member — and why I think it’s worth trying if you haven’t yet!

What is Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime is a membership that gives you access to tons of benefits on Amazon and beyond. It’s best known for fast, free delivery on millions of items — but there’s actually a lot more included:

  • Fast, free shipping — sometimes same-day
  • Prime Video — stream thousands of movies and TV shows
  • Grubhub+ — save on restaurant delivery
  • Prime Reading — access to free books, magazines, and more
  • Exclusive deals & discounts — like the annual Prime Day event
  • Amazon Photos — secure photo storage
My Favorite Prime Benefits (aka Why I Renew Every Year!)

1️⃣ Fast, Free Delivery
There’s nothing like knowing the things I need will arrive in a day or two — no extra shipping fees. I love this especially for gifts (I tend to shop last-minute!), pet supplies, and household items.
2️⃣ Prime Video
We love movie nights around here. Prime Video has a great selection — from hit shows to hidden gems — included with our membership.
3️⃣ Prime Day Deals — coming soon: July 8–11!
Every year, Prime Day surprises me with savings on everything from electronics to home essentials. It’s like a summer Black Friday — but just for members! If you’re thinking of trying Prime, this is the perfect time — so you can catch the big deals.
4️⃣ Convenience
With Prime, I’ve saved so many trips to the store — which saves me time, gas, and stress. (And yes, I’ll happily let Amazon carry the heavy packages to my porch.)

Pros & Cons of Amazon Prime

Pros:

✅ Tons of included benefits — not just shipping
✅ Fast delivery saves time & stress
✅ Big savings on Prime Day + exclusive deals
✅ Good entertainment value with Prime Video & more

Cons:

⛔ It’s a subscription — so if you don’t use the perks, it may not feel worth it

⛔ Some items on Amazon aren’t Prime-eligible (though most are)

Should You Try It?

If you like convenience, value, and the occasional deal-hunting thrill — I’d absolutely recommend trying Amazon Prime. You can even start with a free trial — and trust me, once you see how handy it is, you may just become a fan like me.

And with Prime Day happening July 8–11 this year, now’s the perfect time to sign up — so you don’t miss those amazing limited-time deals!

Happy shopping — and streaming — and saving! 💛
